I never paid much attention to meditation or balance. I would look at people who were practicing tai chi and get confused by it. But after starting kung fu I decided to take a closer look at tai chi.
Other students in the class did tai chi as well as kung fu and they told me that it had helped them with their training. I thought if kung fu had such a great impact on my life then maybe tai chi will to. I asked more about tai chi and it was described to me in different ways, but the one that stuck with me the most was ‘meditation in motion’ and that sounded like the most peaceful thing in the world. So, naturally I tried out a class.
I found it to be quite different to kung fu at the start but I quickly got the hang of it. I have never been more at peace and after a class I feel awake but also refreshed. I still do tai chi to this day and I will never regret starting it. I could not recommend it more.
